But why are mental objects not accessible to our shared scrutiny? Mental substance is always subtle; it does not form coarse conglomerates. In fact, as Descartes intuited correctly, the mental substance is indivisible.Therefore, for the mental substance, there is no reduction to ever smaller components; there is no microphone from which the macro is made. 

Therefore, the mental world is a whole, or what physicists sometimes call an infinite medium. There may be waves in such an infinite medium, modes of motion that can be described as waves of quantum possibility obeying a probabilistic calculation.
